Brisbane North – Carers Week Wrap Up

The Brisbane North Region held three events during Carers week. We had a wonderful week spending time with lovely Carers celebrating how much they do each day.

On the 17th October, we held our Picnic and Guided Walk at Mt Coo-tha which was a huge hit! We had 28 Carers attend the event, with Carers commenting on how much they loved being out and about in the sunshine enjoying a walk and learning more about the Botanical Gardens. We had perfect weather and Carers stated they enjoyed spending time with other Carers and getting to know each other.

We held a High Tea in collaboration with the Mental Health Ward of Prince Charles Hospital where we also presented our Carer Friendly Business Awards. This was a fabulous event where we were privileged to have 45 Carers, Honourable Doctor Anthony Lynam and Local Government Councillor Norm Wyndham attend the event. We all enjoyed a lovely high tea followed by some Tai Chi to get us moving.

Our last event was held on Friday, 21 October at the Bikini Beach Café in Redcliffe. We had 42 Carers attend the event, where we enjoyed having lunch together and doing trivia after lunch.
