Mackay District – Carers Week Wrap Up

While some say that the sky is the limit, here in the Mackay we aim high  – again the 4 musketeers delivered!!

With our kitchen hand Wayne (Hermann) and our Mackay Regional Councillor Ross Gee, The Mackay Surf Club was the place to be for “Carnivale.”  With so much to offer, vibrant coloured balloons, feathers and the “wow” factor from our performers, Keith the singer of songs, Codi our fan dancer, Dallas from sensory circus tribe, Diane with her Palmistry, and the evidence from Scotty’s Goofy Booths, Carnivale was about connecting carers with magic, laughter, music and dance.

With the RAV loaded we headed north where the carers in Bowen walked the Bush Tucker Trail, and followed up with morning tea at Flagstaff Hill Café with its magnificent views of the Coral Sea and Islands thanks to funding from CRCC.

The MyTime Group and Bowen LAC Kath Hansen and Carers Queensland had an enjoyable luncheon at The Larrikin Hotel on Sunday16th October, where we sampled the delights of their menu.  The RAV4 then headed west to Moranbah for Morning tea with Carers and Service Providers.

The smiles, comments and laughter is what gives us the passion to keep aiming for the sky!!

We would like thank the CRCC and the Queensland Government for their generous support and sponsorship of these regional events.
