Wide Bay – Carers Week Wrap Up
Carers week 2016 kicked off with a Carers Wellbeing Day held in Hervey Bay at the Boat Club. This event was attended by approximately 60 carers. The day was very well received with the carers commenting on how much they enjoyed the information and pampering sessions.
Our second event for Carers week was a River cruise on the Bundy Belle in Bundaberg. We were very lucky to have near perfect weather for our cruise up the Burnett River, Carers commented on how relaxing it was and also to see and learn a little bit more about the region they live in.
Our third event, Cheryl headed out to Gayndah, where carers enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Golden Orange Hotel. The carers stated was it was a very relaxing lunch, and was enjoyed by everyone who attended.
Our final event for Carers Week 2016 was a function held at the Neighbourhood Centre in Monto, Carers Queensland in conjunction with the Neighbourhood Centre and Excelcare, celebrated the re-opening of the Neighbourhood Centre after refurbishment and Carers Week. The event was attended by Carers and Service providers and the BBQ lunch was enjoyed by all.
