Caring for yourself is extremely important. Due to the demanding nature of the caring role, many carers tend to neglect their own health. Common reasons for this include lack of time, tiredness, feelings of guilt, as well carers not perceiving self-care to be a high priority.
However, if you don’t look after yourself, you will be unable to provide the best level of care for the person you are caring for. Taking the time to look after yourself will make you a better carer. You don’t need hours; it can start with just a few minutes.
