Carers Advisory Service

The Carer Advisory Service is a statewide service providing information, support, planning and referral advice to help you in your caring role.

The Carer Advisory Service is often the first point of contact you will have with Carers Queensland.

It’s as easy as calling 1800 242 636 to speak with one of our Carer Advisory Service Officers.

This service is available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. (Free call from local phones, mobile calls at mobile rates).

The Carer Advisory Service is an Australian Government Initiative.

How we can assist you

Our staff are trained to understand the needs of carers. We can help you with:

  • Specialised information and resources about caring. This may include information about support services available, how to look after your own health, and how to access information on finances and legal issues
  • Providing referral advice about services in Queensland. This may include respite, counseling, education and training or carer support groups
  • Emotional support and referral to our counselling program

We also work with other agencies such as community groups, health professionals and government to enhance recognition and awareness of carers’ roles and needs.
